Hwaro is the original Korean griddle BBQ brand of the family, run by The Bibimbab Co., Ltd. and now serving at four shopping malls across Bangkok and Nonthaburi.

Hwaro is named after the small fire that sits at the centre of the table. Over it, a cast-iron griddle sears pork, garlic, kimchi and rice cake together until the whole pan smells like a feast.

Around the griddle the table fills the Korean way: fresh vegetables to wrap, kimchi and banchan refilled freely, and the slow rhythm of cooking together.

It is the loudest, warmest room in the family, full of steam and the sizzle of the pan.
